Tagawa Greenhouses has been a Gold Supplier since 1982.
We started with Ball Exclusive at that time, so it's been 41 years.
I'm Randy Tagawa from Tagawa Greenhouses, located in Denver, Colorado, and I'm the CEO.
Our partnership with Ball is critical to all of our success.
We've been in a relationship with Ball for 41 years, and during that time, we've developed a lot of trust, communication, and transparency.
It also boils down to having similar goals, taking care of the customer.
That's number one in our minds, as well as having open, great communication to provide our customers with the very best service and quality.
We're always trying to strive to improve our quality, but it really comes down to consistency.
With our high light and great growing conditions, we're able to produce some of the very best products in the country.
What makes us different here at Tagawa are so many of the options that we have for our customers.
Hi, my name is Ron Newell, and I'm the Sales and Marketing Manager at Tagawa Greenhouses.
Well, I think that we offer a wide range of tray sizes for the customer.
We also have the number one logistics program in the industry, in my opinion.
And then also, we offer pre-finished plants for spring and for the fall season.
We also offer technical service and customer service that you won't find at other young plant suppliers.
We ship to growers of all sizes, from mom-and-pop small growers to mega growers.
I am Wendy Heckerd.
I am the Young Plant Business Manager and Director of Logistics for Tagawa Greenhouses.
The products and the markets that we supply are plugs, liners, and pre-finish for our young plant production, as well as we are a large finished producer in Colorado.
And the Tagawa family operates one of the top retail garden centers in the nation.
To ensure quality products, we first start out with templates, which we are able to produce week after week.
A template is an SOP, Standard Operating Procedure, that we use for both training as well as being able to implement day-to-day in the greenhouse.
That includes from heat, humidity, moisture, and moisture levels throughout all four stages of the plug growth or vegetative rooting.
We also ensure quality by having our own specialized formula soil mix.
Our logistics program is called Cultivate.
Cultivate is delivering all of our products on a truck or temperature-controlled vehicle to our customers nationwide.
No matter what size the order is, it's going to go on a truck as much as possible.
We currently ship pallets, racks, and boxes throughout the U.S.
We offer consolidated shipping programs so our customers are able to receive one delivery from multiple Colorado growers that complement each other.
And as a part of Cultivate, we offer an expansive redistribution network that requires only a two-case minimum for a vehicle delivery.
Our goal is 100% order fill to our customers.
To be successful in the young plant business, we have to keep reinvesting into the business.
AutoStix machines, Combi-fix machines, seeders, as well as systems throughout the organization.
We are driven and passionate about people, products, and relationships that we supply to all of our customers.
To produce quality plugs, we have to have quality people, and that's from training, education, as well as as we're hiring staff, we also have a great internship program, which then we're able to bring in students from all around the country, bring them in, educate them, and we actually do hire some of them at the end of their internship program.
It's all about teamwork, as well as it's a family, right?
We're a big family here.
For me, Ball is a major player in this industry, and they bring so much to the table.
Genetics, the number one sales force, innovation.
When you're in a relationship with a partner who has the same passion for delivering quality plants to your customer, it is a pleasure to work with them.
Thank you.
