WEST CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, November 2026: The leadership team of Darwin Perennials® is pleased to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its propagation farm in Sabana de Bogotá, Darwin Colombia. From its origin as Flores del Amanecer for Aris Horticulture and through its 2014 purchase and evolution with Darwin Perennials ownership, it has been a leading supplier of high-quality unrooted cutting and tissue-culture propagated perennial varieties for over a quarter century.

Darwin Colombia has increased availability of key perennial genetics into the North American and international markets. In addition, the facility and its management teams have fostered strong relationships within the Colombian floriculture sector, and has supported regional economic growth through a skilled, local workforce.

Laura Valdivieso, President of Asocolflores (The Colombian Association of Flower Exporters), conveyed her sincere congratulations to Darwin Colombia in a letter this October to facility General Manager Cristina Brusco. Valdivieso’s letter cited the farm’s quality in propagation and its advanced research, which has demonstrated Colombia’s excellence in floriculture.

“The 25th anniversary of Darwin Colombia is a source of pride for the Association and for the Colombian floriculture sector,” Valdivieso wrote. “We reaffirm our commitment to continue supporting your initiatives and contributing to your ongoing success.”

As the current market for quality perennials continues to grow, Darwin Colombia will remain a keystone element to the success of North American – and global – perennial supply.

“Our Darwin Colombia facility has come a long way over the years, with significant upgrades to structures, technologies and processes – all with the goal of providing growers the best-quality vegetative perennials on the market,” says Karl Batschke, General Manager of Darwin Perennials. “The Colombia team strengthens the supply chain with their continuous dedication to excellence. This 25-year milestone is definitely one to celebrate.”
